CNC Flamecut burning
Ohio Steel houses four Gantry L-Tec, CM 360 CNC Burning Machines with six torches each and burning capabilities up to 15" thick, 21' wide, and 90' long. A special torch assembly allows burning up to 22" thick. Burning tolerances capable of 1/32" depending on the thickness of the steel plate.
Stress relieving and annealing
OSSP has three Stress Relief furnaces on the property for stress relieving, normalizing, annealing, and preheating any material. Our large Advanced Thermo Dynamics furnace spans 119" high by 191" wide by 298" long for long plates. We preheat alloy plates in our 120" high by 120" wide by 240" long in our burning bay. Our Olson furnace measures 70" tall by 92" wide x 144" long. Having the flexibility of three furnaces allows us to control your costs and complete any order at any time.
shotblasting
Our Shotblast area can handle any job that our Wheelabrator cannot spanning 72' wide by 120' long. Our partially enclosed dry sandblast area is 25' high and we can blast just about anything. Our 20/40 media sized garnet based pressurized compressor blaster utilizes 200 cfm @ 100psi.

Plasma burning
Ohio Steel also houses one unique oxy fuel/plasma ESAB burn table with dual heads, 2 oxy heads, 2 plasma heads. The fuel torches can burn up to 22" thick. and cut plate 25' wide to 30' long. The plasma heads allow us to hold tighter tolerances and cuts down on grinding and cleaning time for burn jobs up to 1" thick.
Surface grinding and machining
OSSP's 42" x 84" Blanchard grinder creates a smooth flat surface for steel plate. It creates machine quality thickness tolerance and removes any debris giving our customer's quicker material removal for their machining parts.

With both rail and truck access, OSSP can ship anything, anywhere with our own fleet of trucks on the road at all times. We have established relationships with hauling companies around the world to get what you need where. Oversize, overweight?, no problem. We will handle the permit headaches and have your plate on the road in no time.
Above is our diesel/electric locomotive. It has a 12-cylinder primary diesel engine that powers four DC traction motors that turn the wheels. It also has a four-cylinder auxiliary diesel providing ancillary electrical power, providing a 95% reduction in emissions and reducing fuel consumption by 75% and particulate matter by 1.53 kilograms/day.
Water Jet Cutting
Ohio Steel's newest addition to our burning capabilities is a Romeo CNC Waterjet machine. The x-axis travel 245.488" and y-axis travel is 112.625. The KMT Streamline water intensifier operates at 60,000 psi with single or dual heads cutting from 3" to 61" inches apart. Any material can be cut up to 6" thick. The abrasive garnet mixed with high pressure water allows for clean burning on harder materials, cutting down on cleaning, grinding, and prep time for your raw materials.
Wheelabrating
Our horizontal Wheelabrator allows for shot blast cleaning for your plate surfaces. OSSP can wheelabrate up to 120" wide material at any length and up to 12" thick.
UT inspection
OSSP has NDE inspectors certified in UT Level II Limited Straight Beam on staff for all plate inspection needs. Upon your request our Quality Control personnel can UT test for laminations and surface cracks, A6 flatness requirements and much more. Our burning department inspects every burnout before and after it's processing to ensure your order meets your specifications. Other NDE inspector certifications on staff include Level I & II MT, PT, VT and AWS Certified Weld Inspectors.
